Licensing
Anyone who wishes to sell, lease or rent another person's real property for a fee or commission must be licensed as either a Real Estate Broker or a Real Estate Salesperson in New York. For newcomers, the first step is to obtain the salesperson license unless he/she has sufficient related experience already.
New York Real Estate Broker
Licensing
In order to qualify for licensure as a real estate broker, an applicant must have at least one year of experience as a licensed real estate salesperson and 1750 points.
New York Real Estate Continuing
Education
22.5 hours of Continuing Education is required for renewing your New York State real estate licenses every two years. The courses REEDC provides are state-approved and good for renewing both salesperson and broker licenses.
