Home Inspection (140 hours)
Aspiring home inspectors need a reliable source for education and training to embark on their new careers.
Real Estate Education Centers professional faculty are all members of the real estate and legal community. They are committed to instruct and assist students in learning the body of knowledge necessary to fulfill NY State requirements and will give students the knowledge and skills they need to become experienced, professional home inspectors.
There are 4 independent 25 hour courses, each with a 50 question final exam. There is a 40 Hour Supervised Inspection Training Program which will involve direct supervision by a Licensed Home Inspector. We will offer each program as follows:
Module # 1 (P0046): $400 including materials - 25 Hrs + Exam
Topics for module 1: Structural, Exterior, and Roof
Module # 2 (P0047): $400 including materials - 25 Hrs + Exam
Topics for module 2: Interior, Insulation, Ventilation and Electrical
Module # 3 (P0048): $400 including materials - 25 Hrs + Exam
Topics for module 3: Heating, Cooling and Plumbing Systems
Module # 4 (P0049): $400 including materials - 25 Hrs + Exam
Topics for module 4: Overview of Profession, NYS Licensing Law and Report Writing
Module # 5 (P0050): $800 - 40 Hrs of Supervised Home Inspections This comprehensive training program is designed to meet the requirements of obtaining 40 hours of field-based training under the direct supervision of a home inspector licensed by New York State, or a professional engineer or architect regulated by New York State who oversees and takes full responsibility for the inspection and any report produced. This course focuses on advanced reporting writing skills necessary in completing reports.
