A real estate class offers a wide array of opportunities to fill needs on many levels. Every state, including New York, has requirements for prelicensing as well as continuing education hours. Obviously, before a new agent receives their New York Real Estate license they would need to attend a real estate class designed to fulfill those needs. Since that particular course is created under the guidance and approval of the state regulators, there is little deviation in the content. However, when choosing where to attend such a class, it is important to consider the convenience of the facilities as well as the objectives of the instructor.

It stands to reason that courses offered in a specific marketplace, like New York, could be based in a central location such as the Five Boroughs – and lead by professionals with experience in that particular region – generally result in a higher quality education and better equipped graduates.
On the other hand, any real estate class which simply “covers the content” without bringing practical examples which are specific according to the locale of the graduate may not offer a full understanding of the content. Every course, every class, should have the ultimate objective of helping the individual attendee take their newly gained or recently reviewed knowledge to the street where it will be applied in a manner so as to make the transaction safer and more beneficial to their clients. Since the ultimate product of the real estate agent is the relationship which leads to a transaction and future referrals, each real estate class needs to be mindful of those end results and present the materials in a way most likely to graduate students who have mastered the knowledge presented and the methods which they are used in everyday business.
Finding a Real Estate Class for Growth
Clients are the most valuable component of any transaction. Without clients there can be no transactions, no sales, no leases, no business. Thankfully, it is possible to find the type of education needed to successfully enter and continue to grow within the industry. The prelicensing requirements must be met prior to qualify to conduct transactions within the state.
Because of this, the attendee may have little to no previous knowledge of the laws and procedures which affect a transaction. Selecting a real estate class to help meet these requirements is generally relegated to finding the closest or most convenient facility. When making such a selection, it is also important to understand why the student should want an instructor and educational organization committed to the student’s success within that particular marketing area. In other words, an institution based outside of New York City may not provide the same quality of applicable education as one located within the Five Boroughs.
Moving on to continuing education requirements as well as other educational opportunities, it becomes more a matter of knowing which real estate class meets the student’s particular needs at the time. For example, when a new mortgage program is introduced, there may be a local learning forum to help the licensed agent learn to understand and navigate that specific offering. Likewise, there may be a class offered on new appliances or building methods which may be of interest and benefit to clients. In the end, when it comes time to choose and attend any real estate class it pays to do a little research to make certain the institution, instructor and location are all the best available for the student.
