This recommendation is for Garry, one of the Property and Casualty Insurance Broker Pre-Licensing course instructors. He kept class interesting and fun and almost my whole class passed the exam the first time. He really seemed to care about his students and their comprehension of the material as opposed to just drilling the correct answers into us.

At the time of writing this, I am about 75% done with my classes at REEDC and I am having such a great time that I felt compelled to write a review.
The instructor is very knowledgeable, funny and engaging. When you are there, you genuinely follow the material because it is taught so well.

I have just finished my course and exam here. I cannot say enough about this wonderful place! There is a great concern and devotion on the part of everyone there that your experience is positive and you are happy with your learning. Most impressive was the incredible effort put towards job placement, recruiting, and real world networking.

The Property Casualty Insurance course was taught by Garry Smalley, a great instructor who engaged the class and made the whole experience worthwhile. Believe it or not, I remember laughing a few times in the class from some of the stories. I just got my license today! Passed on my first try, the course was more then enough if you are willing to study 1-2 hours a few nights a week

Just finished two weeks of classes, and I couldn’t be more pleased. The teacher, Greg is very impressive, having been in the field, and is a wealth of knowledge. He always has time to answer my many questions. I live in Brooklyn, and work in Manhattan, and if I don’t feel like coming into NY on weekends, I can go to their Brooklyn office, which works out well for me.

Earning your certificate is straightforward: complete the 22.5-hour Property Management Certificate Course, delivered online (or via Zoom livestream), and you’ll receive your certificate of completion. If you’re a licensed real estate salesperson or broker, those same 22.5 hours count as elective continuing education toward your license renewal — so you build a new skill set and stay current at the same time.
Usually, yes. New York doesn’t have a separate property manager license. But if you’re paid to rent, lease or collect rent on someone else’s property, the law treats that as real estate brokerage, so you’ll need a salesperson license (working under a sponsoring broker) or a broker license. Owners managing their own property and salaried employees of a single owner are generally exempt. This certificate teaches you the job, but it isn’t a state license. Our 77-hour salesperson course is the first step toward getting one.

Yes, as elective hours. The course is approved for 22.5 hours of elective real estate continuing education. New York renewals also require specific mandated topics, such as fair housing, implicit bias and cultural competency, which this course doesn’t cover. Licensed salespersons and brokers will still need to take those separately.
How properties are run day to day. That includes leasing and tenant screening, rent collection, tenant relations, maintenance and vendor management, budgeting and financial reporting, fair housing rules and New York landlord-tenant law.
No. This 22.5-hour course is an online, self-paced introduction to property management. The Residential Facility Manager program is a 90-hour, instructor-led course on Zoom that goes deeper into running residential buildings.
