This recommendation is for Garry, one of the Property and Casualty Insurance Broker Pre-Licensing course instructors. He kept class interesting and fun and almost my whole class passed the exam the first time. He really seemed to care about his students and their comprehension of the material as opposed to just drilling the correct answers into us.

At the time of writing this, I am about 75% done with my classes at REEDC and I am having such a great time that I felt compelled to write a review.
The instructor is very knowledgeable, funny and engaging. When you are there, you genuinely follow the material because it is taught so well.

I have just finished my course and exam here. I cannot say enough about this wonderful place! There is a great concern and devotion on the part of everyone there that your experience is positive and you are happy with your learning. Most impressive was the incredible effort put towards job placement, recruiting, and real world networking.

The Property Casualty Insurance course was taught by Garry Smalley, a great instructor who engaged the class and made the whole experience worthwhile. Believe it or not, I remember laughing a few times in the class from some of the stories. I just got my license today! Passed on my first try, the course was more then enough if you are willing to study 1-2 hours a few nights a week

Just finished two weeks of classes, and I couldn’t be more pleased. The teacher, Greg is very impressive, having been in the field, and is a wealth of knowledge. He always has time to answer my many questions. I live in Brooklyn, and work in Manhattan, and if I don’t feel like coming into NY on weekends, I can go to their Brooklyn office, which works out well for me.

New York requires all licensed real estate salespersons and brokers to complete continuing education to keep their license active. There’s no exam and no sponsoring broker needed; just the required hours, completed before your renewal date. To renew on time, every licensee must:
Renewing your license with REEDC is straightforward. Choose individual courses to fill the hours you still need, or enroll in a complete 22.5-hour package that covers everything at once. Take your classes in person, live via Zoom, or online at your own pace. When you finish, you’ll receive a certificate of completion for your records, and REEDC reports your completed hours to the Department of State — so you’re ready to renew through your eAccessNY account before your expiration date.
New York requires all licensed salespersons and brokers to complete 22.5 hours of approved continuing education every two years. This includes mandated topics like fair housing, cultural competency, implicit bias, ethical business practices, recent legal matters, and law of agency, with the remaining hours made up of electives.
You must complete all 22.5 hours before your license expiration date (not the date you submit your renewal). We recommend starting early so you’re not rushing at the deadline. REEDC’s flexible scheduling lets you finish quickly if your renewal date is approaching.
Yes. REEDC offers continuing education in the classroom, live via Zoom, and through online self-paced courses, so you can complete your hours in whatever format fits your schedule. You can mix formats across different courses to make up your full 22.5 hours.
No. New York eliminated the long-standing 15-year broker exemption, so all licensees — including experienced brokers who were previously exempt — must now complete the full 22.5 hours every renewal cycle to keep their license active.
You can’t conduct any licensed real estate activity until you renew, and there are no grace periods. New York gives you up to two years from your expiration date to complete your CE and renew. After that, you’d have to retake the state licensing exam to get licensed again.
